Hexagon blanket

Hexagon Blanket

I used a variety of colours from the style craft special dk range (you can buy in bulk from wool warehouse) and used a 4mm hook.

To make a Hexagon:

Magic circle

1st round
Ch3 1tr (2ch, 2tr) x5 to give you six pairs of trebles with 2 chain space between. Slip stitch into top of ch3.

Make sure you have 6 sides

2nd round
Ch3, above the previous two trebles put two trebles,  in chain space put 1tr, 2ch,1tr.
Follow round until last chain space and do 1tr, 2ch and slip stitch on to top of the ch3 you started with.  This should give you 4trb with 2ch all the way round

3rd round
As above but do 4tr above the trebles from previous row.
So 6tr with 2ch between

4th round
As above but do 6tr above the trebles from previous row.
So 8tr with 2ch between

5th round
As above but do 6tr above the trebles from previous row.
So 10tr with 2ch between

This is your hexagon.  Sew in your ends.

Do 6 of one colour and a different colour one for the middle.

Also choose a base colour for the individual spacers that go between the hexagons. I chose yellow for mine.
These go at the top,  bottom and each side of the hexagon so four base ones will touch each hexagon other than edge ones.

At the sides I used 4 sided Hexagon shapes and 3 sided in the corners with full hexagons at the top and bottom.

I used the main colour to sew all the induvidual hexagons together but chose one colour to sew all the flower hexagons together.
